Job description

We are looking for a dedicated and inspiring English Teacher to join a supportive secondary school on a part time, permanent basis starting in January 2026.

Pupils enjoy a broad and engaging curriculum that prepares them well for the future. They learn in well-structured lessons and achieve across a wide range of subjects. Behaviour is respectful and routines are clear, creating a safe and inclusive environment. Pupils are encouraged to be themselves and take pride in leadership roles. Enrichment opportunities, including trips and clubs, help broaden their horizons and support character development.

Duties as an English Teacher:

 

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging English lessons across Key Stages.

  • Foster a love for reading, writing, and communication in all learners.

  • Assess, record, and report on pupil progress in line with school policies.

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports all students.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the wider English department and school community.

Ideal English Teacher:

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Experience teaching English at the secondary level.

  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for English literature and language.

  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills as an English Teacher.
