Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring Food Technology Teacher to join a dynamic Design & Technology department. The successful candidate will have a passion for food education, a strong subject knowledge, and the ability to deliver creative, engaging, and practical lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. A commitment to fostering a love of cooking, nutrition, and healthy lifestyles is essential. Beginning June 2025.

Duties as a Food Technology Teacher:

 

  • Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the national curriculum.

  • Promote food safety, hygiene, and nutrition awareness.

  • Support and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.

  • Manage resources effectively, including kitchen spaces and equipment.

  • Contribute to extra-curricular activities such as cooking clubs or themed events.

  • Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and health & safety.

Ideal Food Technology Teacher:

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • A degree in Food Technology or a related subject.

  • Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level (KS3 and KS4).

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills as a Food Technology.

  • A commitment to inclusion and raising student achievement.

  • A creative and practical approach to teaching.
