  • Assisting students with personal care tasks, such as feeding, toileting, and mobility, as required.
  • Monitoring and documenting student progress, and providing feedback to the teaching team.
  • Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters independence, social interaction, and emotional growth.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or similar role in special education settings, preferably with students who have complex needs.
  • Good knowledge of the KS1 and KS2 curriculum
  • A strong understanding of various disabilities and learning difficulties, and the ability to adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Resilience, adaptability, and a positive attitude when faced with challenges.
  • Relevant certifications or training in special education or related fields (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder, Makaton, PECS) are highly desirable.

Why Step Teachers?

  • Our core values: honesty, hard-working, and professionalism.
  • Over two decades of experience in supplying educational professionals to regions including East Anglia, North London, Hertfordshire, and Plymouth.
  • Establishing enduring partnerships with Primary, Secondary, and SEN Schools.
