Key Responsibilities as a General Science Teacher
As a General Science Teacher, you will:
- Teach General Science (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) across KS3 and KS4.
- Plan and deliver dynamic lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Prepare students for assessments and external exams such as GCSEs.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing meaningful feedback.
- Foster a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that encourages curiosity and achievement.
- Utilize innovative teaching strategies and technologies to engage all learners.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively to create a positive learning atmosphere.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop teaching resources and best practices.
- Contribute to the wider school community through clubs, trips, and science events.
Ideal Candidate for the General Science Teacher Role
The ideal General Science Teacher will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Have a degree in Science or a related subject.
- Be confident in delivering all three sciences at KS3 and at least one at KS4.
- Be passionate about science education and inspiring young learners.
- Possess strong classroom management and communication skills as a General Science Teacher.
- Be committed to continuous professional development and teamwork.
- Support the school’s values, policies, and safeguarding expectations.
