General Science Teacher
Job description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and versatile General Science Teacher to join a supportive Science department on a fixed-term contract from November 2026 until the end of the academic year. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, inspiring students to explore all areas of science and achieve their full potential.
Duties as a General Science Teacher:
Plan, prepare and teach high-quality lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics at KS3 and KS4.
Assess and track pupil progress, providing constructive feedback and setting ambitious targets.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity and scientific thinking.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to share resources and best practice.
Contribute to extracurricular science activities, trips and whole-school events where appropriate.
Ideal General Science Teacher:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in a science-related subject.
Ability to teach all three sciences confidently at KS3 and KS4.
Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills as a General Science Teacher.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
