General Science Teacher – Full-time maternity cover from February 2026

Duties as General Science Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging General Science lessons across the relevant year groups
  • Support pupils’ understanding of scientific concepts through practical and theory-based learning
  • Assess progress within lessons and provide constructive feedback
  • Maintain a calm, positive classroom environment that supports learning
  • Differentiate teaching to meet a range of learning needs
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistent curriculum delivery
  • Uphold safeguarding standards and prioritise pupil welfare

Ideal General Science Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching Science
  • Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at KS3 and KS4
  • Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to adapt lessons for mixed-ability groups
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • A proactive, reflective approach to supporting pupil progress
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil well-being
