Geography Teacher – Flexible short-term and long-term opportunities available immediately

These flexible opportunities are ideal for teachers who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different secondary school settings. You will be supporting pupils in Stevenage and the surrounding areas, delivering engaging Geography lessons across a range of year groups.

Duties as Geography Teacher:

Deliver engaging Geography lessons using provided plans across Key Stages
Teach a broad range of topics including physical, human, and environmental geography
Develop pupils’ understanding of place, space, and global interdependence
Support students in building enquiry, map-reading, and analytical skills
Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of mixed-ability groups
Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress when required
Contribute to departmental planning and wider school initiatives during longer-term placements

Ideal Geography Teacher:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Strong subject knowledge across the Geography curriculum
Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
Ability to inspire curiosity about the world and promote a love of Geography
Flexible and adaptable across different schools and year groups
Good communication and organisational skills
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils
Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development
