Job description

​Step Teachers are working with a secondary school in Enfield to source a Science Teacher to join their team from September 2022 as their Head of Department. This role is available on a full-time basis. The exceptional teacher will be teaching KS3-KS5.

This school is an “Outstanding” Ofsted-rated school that has been praised for the outstanding leadership and high aspiration that the SLT have. The school's behaviour and safety within the school with the students having a deep, trusting working relationship with the staff. The quality of teaching in this school has been praised with the high effectiveness of the teacher and is defined as a “key pillar” of teaching.

The role:

  • Strong Science curriculum knowledge at KS3 & 5

  • Upkeep a tidy, organised classroom with accessible resources where needed

  • Direct and support any additional staff in the classroom where applicable

  • Ability to assess and report on your students when required

  • Able to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons

  • Willingness to comply with the schools’ policies and them implement effectively

Requirements:

  • Hold QTS or the equivalent of

  • Have recent mainstream school-based experience teaching Science

  • Have recent A-Level based teaching experience teaching BTEC Biology

  • Relevant subject-specific degree is desirable
