Job description
High Level Teaching Assistant – Full-time, temp-to-perm role starting as soon as possible
We are seeking a committed High Level Teaching Assistant to join a school where pupils benefit from a calm and purposeful learning environment. Staff have high expectations and work together to help pupils achieve well. Leaders are ambitious for all learners and ensure that safeguarding is prioritised across the school. Pupils are supported to develop both academically and personally, with tailored strategies in place to meet individual needs.
Duties as High-Level Teaching Assistant:
- Support pupils with SEMH needs across the school
- Implement behaviour management strategies using Level 2 Team Teach training
- Assist in planning and delivering targeted interventions
- Provide one-to-one and small group support
- Contribute to pupil progress tracking and reporting
- Work closely with teaching staff and the SENCO to support learning
- Promote emotional regulation and positive behaviour
- Support safeguarding procedures and attend relevant meetings
Ideal High-Level Teaching Assistant:
- Level 2 Team Teach behaviour management training (essential)
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH needs
- Strong understanding of behaviour support strategies
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Experience writing reports for professional meetings
- Ideally trained as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
- Confident attending strategy and core group meetings
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
