History Teacher – Full-time, long-term temporary and ongoing role from January 2026

Duties as History Teacher:

Plan and deliver engaging history lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
Prepare students for assessments and examinations, including GCSE History
Promote historical enquiry, critical thinking, and analytical skills
Use a range of teaching strategies to support diverse learning needs
Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing constructive feedback
Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Contribute to the development of the history curriculum and resources
Collaborate with colleagues to support cross-curricular learning and school initiatives

Ideal History Teacher:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
Experience teaching history in a secondary school setting
Strong subject knowledge and passion for history education
Ability to inspire and motivate students of varying abilities
Excellent classroom management and communication skills as a History Teacher
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Willingness to contribute to the wider school community
