Job description

KS1 Teacher – Full-time, day-to-day supply from November 2025
 
These flexible opportunities are ideal for KS1 teachers who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school settings. You’ll be supporting pupils in Year 1 and Year 2 across a range of schools in Harpenden and the surrounding areas, delivering engaging lessons and helping children build strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, and social development.

Duties as KS1 Teacher:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching to KS1 pupils across various schools
  • Plan and adapt lessons to meet the needs of different learners
  • Support children’s academic and emotional development
  • Collaborate with support staff and senior leaders to ensure effective provision
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment
  • Provide feedback and contribute to pupil progress reviews
  • Uphold safeguarding and behaviour policies consistently

Ideal KS1 Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching KS1 in mainstream primary settings
  • Strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and phonics programmes
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • Flexible, reliable, and confident working across different schools
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
