Job description

Step Teachers are working with a School in East Barnet to source a Maths teacher. This is a long-term supply role with a September start.

This is a "Good" Ofsted-rated school where behaviour is exemplary. Student's academic progress is good and in 2011 the proportion of students attaining five or more GCSE passes at grade C or higher, including English and mathematics, was above average. It is not yet outstanding because teaching across the school is not yet strong enough to ensure that almost all students make rapid and sustained progress in most subjects and targets set for students’ progress are not always as challenging as they could be.

Role:

  • Strong Maths curriculum knowledge at KS3 & 4

  • Upkeep a tidy, organised classroom with accessible resources where needed

  • Direct and support any additional staff in the classroom where applicable

  • Ability to assess and report on your students when required

  • Able to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons

  • Willingness to comply with the schools’ policies and implement them effectively

Requirements:

  • Hold QTS or the equivalent of

  • Have recent mainstream school-based experience teaching Maths

  • The relevant subject-specific degree is desirable
