Job description
We are seeking a dedicated Full-Time Maths Teacher for a long-term temporary role starting in November 2025, supporting pupils with learning needs and SEMH in a secondary school setting.
This opportunity is within a serene and inspiring secondary school that nurtures pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Staff build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, helping them feel listened to, valued and respected. The school promotes high expectations, positive behaviour, and a wide range of enrichment opportunities, enabling pupils to flourish both academically and personally.
Maths Teacher – Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and differentiated Maths lessons to pupils with SEND and SEMH needs
- Plan and assess learning in line with individual education plans and school policies
- Support pupils in developing confidence and resilience in numeracy
- Collaborate with SENCO and support staff to tailor interventions and strategies
- Promote a safe, inclusive and respectful classroom environment
- Monitor and report on pupil progress, behaviour and wellbeing
- Contribute to whole-school initiatives and enrichment activities
- Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and maintain accurate records
Maths Teacher – Ideal Candidate
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has experience teaching Maths to pupils with SEND and SEMH needs
- Strong subject knowledge and ability to adapt teaching to diverse learning styles
- Committed to promoting high standards and pupil achievement
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as a Maths Teacher.
- Understanding of safeguarding practices and procedures
- Flexible, resilient and passionate about inclusive education
