Job description
Music Teacher – Full-time, long-term temporary role from January 2026 until Summer
Duties as Music Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging music lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Prepare students for practical and written assessments, including GCSE Music
- Foster creativity and musical appreciation through a broad curriculum
- Lead or support extracurricular music activities such as choir, orchestra, or school performances
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing feedback and support
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Collaborate with colleagues to support whole-school initiatives and cross-curricular learning
Ideal Music Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
- Experience teaching music in a secondary school setting
- Strong subject knowledge and ability to teach music theory and practical skills
- Passion for music education and commitment to pupil development
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Willingness to contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities
