Job description

Step Teachers are currently working with a school near the East Coast of Norfolk to locate a Music teacher for a long-term to permanent role starting September 2024.

The school and the school’s leadership team are well supported by the trust and are improving the school, especially in the teaching and curriculum. They have also put into place an effective programme to support students who struggle, especially with their reading. Pupils have a growing understanding of respect 

Role of a Music Teacher:

  • Strong knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 Music curriculum
  • Organised and professional maintenance of the classroom and the associated resources, instruments and equipment
  • Work effectively with other members of staff, both within the department and throughout the school
  • Ability to assess students, monitor their progress, and provide constructive feedback
  • Able to plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons
  • Compliance with the schools’ policies and the reliable implementation of these

Requirements for a Music Teacher:

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent qualification for teaching in Secondary School
  • Have recent mainstream school-based experience as a Music Teacher
  • Have a good level of classroom and behaviour management
  • A relevant Music-related degree is desirable.
  • SEND experience is desirable
