Job description

Nursery Teacher – Full-time, long-term temporary and ongoing role starting as soon as possible


This nursery provides a warm, child‑centred, and well‑organised learning environment where pupils benefit from nurturing adults, strong routines, and engaging early years provision. Leaders work closely with staff to maintain high expectations, ensuring children feel safe, supported, and ready to explore. Children respond well to purposeful activities that encourage early communication, curiosity, and steady developmental progress.

Duties as Nursery Teacher:

  • Teach and support children aged 3–6 with a range of SEND needs
  • Deliver engaging, play‑based activities that support early learning
  • Adapt planning to meet diverse developmental and sensory needs
  • Foster social and emotional development through consistent routines
  • Work closely with support staff to deliver high‑quality provision
  • Assess children’s progress and provide verbal feedback
  • Create a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment
  • Uphold safeguarding expectations and prioritise child well‑being

Ideal Nursery Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in EYFS
  • Strong understanding of early childhood development
  • Confident supporting children with SEND
  • Warm, patient, and nurturing approach
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • Able to work collaboratively within a team
  • Proactive, reflective, and committed to excellent early years practice
  • Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
