Job description
Nursery Teaching Assistant – Temporary, long-term and ongoing position starting November 2025
We are seeking a qualified Nursery Teaching Assistant to join a warm and inclusive early years setting. The school provides a safe and nurturing environment where children are encouraged to explore, play and learn. Staff are well-supported by leadership, and the curriculum is thoughtfully designed to promote children's development across all areas of learning. Children are happy, settled, and make good progress in their early education.
Duties as Nursery Teaching Assistant:
- Support the learning and development of children aged 2–4 years
- Assist in planning and delivering engaging activities aligned with the EYFS framework
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Help maintain a safe, clean and stimulating classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to team planning
- Support children with additional needs and liaise with parents and carers
- Observe and record children’s progress to inform planning and reports
Ideal Nursery Teaching Assistant:
- Holds a Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare
- Has at least 2 years of experience working in a nursery or early years setting
- Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Patient, caring and enthusiastic approach to supporting young children
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
