PE Teacher
Job description
PE Teacher – Full-time, temp to perm position starting January 2026
We are seeking a dedicated PE Teacher to join a supportive secondary PRU setting. Pupils are supported to re-engage with learning through a curriculum that is tailored to their individual needs. Staff work hard to build trusting relationships and help pupils develop confidence and resilience. Leaders are ambitious for all learners and ensure that staff are well trained and supported in managing behaviour and promoting wellbeing.
Duties as PE Teacher:
- Deliver engaging PE lessons tailored to pupils in a PRU setting
- Promote physical activity, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles
- Support pupils with SEMH needs through inclusive teaching strategies
- Collaborate with colleagues to support whole-school wellbeing initiatives
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting lessons to individual needs
- Contribute to behaviour support plans and pastoral care
Ideal PE Teacher:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching PE in secondary or alternative provision settings
- Strong understanding of SEMH and behaviour support strategies
- Confident managing challenging behaviour with empathy and consistency
- Passionate about promoting physical and emotional wellbeing
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
