Physics Teacher
Job description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Physics Teacher to join a well-resourced Science department. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning in Physics across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, fostering a passion for science and critical thinking in all students. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as a Physics Teacher:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging Physics lessons that inspire students and meet curriculum objectives.
Use a range of teaching strategies and resources to support student learning and achievement across all abilities.
Set and mark homework, assessments, and classwork in line with school policy.
Monitor and track student progress, providing timely feedback and implementing interventions where necessary.
Maintain an orderly, safe, and stimulating classroom environment.
Prepare students for internal and external examinations, including GCSE and A-levels.
Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Science department to develop curriculum plans and share best practices.
Contribute to the development of schemes of work and enrichment activities.
Participate in school events, parent evenings, and departmental meetings.
Uphold the school’s policies, including those on behaviour, safeguarding, and equal opportunities.
Encourage students’ curiosity, independence, and confidence in scientific investigation.
Ideal Physics Teacher:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Have a degree in Physics or a closely related subject.
Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and an ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
Be passionate about science education and committed to raising student achievement.
Be a reflective practitioner willing to engage with ongoing professional development.
Have excellent classroom management and organisational skills as a Physics Teacher.
Be a positive team player and contribute to the wider school community.
