Physics Teacher
Job description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Physics Teacher to join the Science Department at a vibrant school. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated educator to deliver high-quality physics teaching and inspire a passion for science in young minds. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as Physics Teacher:
each Physics across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the ability to teach Key Stage 5 desirable
Plan and deliver engaging, practical, and thought-provoking lessons
Foster curiosity, critical thinking and problem-solving through scientific enquiry
Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback and intervention where necessary
Prepare students for internal and external assessments (GCSE and A-Level/IB if applicable)
Use a variety of teaching methods and technologies to support diverse learning needs
Contribute to the development of the science curriculum, schemes of work, and resources
Take part in science-related enrichment activities such as clubs, competitions, or trips
Collaborate effectively with colleagues and promote a strong science culture across the school
Ideal Physics Teacher:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent)
Has a degree in Physics or a closely related subject
Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and the ability to convey complex concepts clearly
Has experience or a strong interest in teaching post-16 physics (desirable)
Uses engaging and practical teaching approaches
Is committed to raising attainment and inspiring a lifelong interest in science
Has strong classroom management and organisational skills as a Physics Teacher.
Works well as part of a team and contributes positively to school life
