Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant – Day-to-day supply starting as soon as possible

These flexible opportunities are ideal for Primary SEMH Teaching Assistants who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school settings. You’ll work with a range of schools in Hounslow and surrounding areas, supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs to help them thrive in a positive learning environment.

Duties as Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant:

Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
Assist in implementing behaviour management strategies and personalised plans
Support pupils in developing social and emotional skills
Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to adapt learning activities
Promote a calm and inclusive classroom environment
Monitor and report pupil progress and well-being

Ideal Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant:

Previous experience supporting children with SEMH needs in a primary setting
Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies
Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
Reliable, adaptable, and enthusiastic about making a difference
