Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Primary SEN Teacher to join an inclusive and supportive team. This is a rewarding opportunity for a teacher who is committed to making a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, personalised teaching and learning to pupils with a range of special educational needs in a nurturing and structured environment. Working closely with support staff and specialists, you will help every child achieve their potential—academically, socially, and emotionally. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Primary SEN Teacher:

 

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to pupils’ individual EHCP targets

  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment

  • Support pupils with a variety of needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech and language, SEMH)

  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and the SENCO

  • Monitor and assess pupil progress and contribute to review meetings

  • Build strong relationships with parents and carers to support learning at home

  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding and behaviour management

Ideal Primary SEN Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching in a primary or SEN setting

  • Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and EYFS/Primary curriculum

  • Ability to differentiate effectively and manage a wide range of needs

  • Compassionate, calm, and resilient approach to teaching

  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and organisational skills as a Primary SEN Teacher.

  • A commitment to inclusion and pupil wellbeing
