Job description

Step Teachers are currently seeking experienced Teaching Assistants for a variety of day-to-day and long-term roles within the Plymouth area within Primary Schools. Whether you are looking for full-time or part-time work, Step Teachers are here for you. 

As a teaching assistant, you assist teachers in planning learning activities, preparing learning materials, completing records, and carrying out administrative tasks. Supporting Teachers in managing class behavior. Following a child's care plan. Supervising pupils in the playground.

Role:

  • Able to support the students in the class under the direction of the class teacher

  • Upkeep a tidy, organised classroom with accessible resources where needed

  • Work effectively with other members of staff in the classroom and throughout the school

  • Ability to support students and encourage their progression

  • Willingness to comply with the schools’ policies and implement them effectively

Requirements:

  • Recent experience working in a primary school or with school-aged children

  • A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification is desirable

  • SEND experience is desirable

  • Living within or commutable distance
