Job description
Art Technician – Flexible short-term and long-term opportunities available immediately
These flexible opportunities are ideal for Art Technicians who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school settings. You will be supporting pupils in Tottenham and the surrounding areas, helping to maintain a creative, safe, and efficient Art Department environment.
Duties as Art Technician:
- Prepare materials, equipment, and resources for Art lessons
- Maintain and organise classroom materials, tools, and specialist equipment
- Support practical activities, including painting, sculpture, photography, and mixed media
- Assist with displays, exhibitions, and presentation of student work
- Ensure safe handling and storage of chemicals, tools, and art materials
- Monitor stock levels and support ordering processes
- Provide technical support during practical lessons
- Assist teachers in creating an inspiring learning environment
- Help keep the classroom and preparation areas clean and safe
Ideal Art Technician:
- Experience working within an Art Department or practical arts environment
- Strong understanding of materials, tools, and equipment used in secondary Art
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work safely and support health and safety procedures
- Creative, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
- Willingness to undertake relevant training and development
