Job description

Step teachers are working with an alternative provision provider who is seeking a maths teacher to join them on a full-time basis commencing as soon as possible.  We have been working with this setting for some time, and this vacancy will be on-going.  It could even become a permanent role for the right candidate who can forge quick relationships with the students and set fun and realistic expectations for the students while they work.

The ideal Maths teacher:

  • You will have a Maths related degree, with PGCE and QTS
  • Be able to demonstrate strong behaviour management strategies
  • The school are happy to consider NQTs but suggest that this role might be better suited for candidates who are more experienced
  • Have experience working within an SEN setting or SEN students in a mainstream school

Our client is an Independent Special School for boys and girls aged 13-16 that have been excluded from mainstream education and require specialist teaching, facilities, resources and adult support.

If you have any further questions regarding this opportunity please call or email us to discuss.

Candidates will be subject to a variety of checks including an enhanced DBS check, full references including your most recent employer and eligibility to work in the UK. Step Teachers are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.

Unlike other agencies, Step Teachers are more than happy to process your pay via PAYE – you will not be forced to go with an Umbrella Company.
