Job description

This school is a nurturing and inclusive primary school with a strong commitment to early years education. We are looking for a dedicated and creative Reception Teacher to join a team and provide a rich, supportive, and inspiring learning environment for our youngest pupils. Beginning ASAP.

Duties as a Reception Year Teacher:

 

  • Deliver high-quality teaching in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum

  • Plan and implement engaging activities that promote learning through play and exploration

  • Create a warm, welcoming and stimulating classroom environment that supports children's development

  • Use observations and assessments to monitor children’s progress and inform next steps in learning

  • Build strong relationships with children, parents and carers, fostering effective communication and trust

  • Work collaboratively with the Early Years team, including teaching assistants and SEND support

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and uphold its values and vision

  • Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times

Ideal Reception Year Teacher:

 

  • Hold QTS and have experience teaching in an EYFS setting (Reception class essential)

  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development

  • Be passionate about early learning and the importance of a secure, caring classroom

  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as a Reception Year Teacher.

  • Be reflective, flexible and committed to continuous improvement

  • Work well both independently and as part of a team
