Job description

A rewarding opportunity has arisen for a thoughtful and dedicated Religious Studies Teacher to join a dynamic and inclusive secondary school environment. We are looking for a passionate educator who can inspire students to explore different worldviews, develop critical thinking, and engage respectfully with diverse beliefs and values. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Religious Education Teacher:

 

  • Deliver engaging Religious Studies lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.

  • Plan and assess learning in line with curriculum expectations and exam specifications.

  • Foster a respectful and reflective classroom culture.

  • Encourage debate, discussion, and empathy in relation to philosophical, ethical, and religious topics.

  • Contribute to the wider life of the humanities faculty and whole-school ethos.

Ideal Religious Education Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • A degree in Religious Studies, Philosophy, Theology, or a related subject.

  • Experience teaching Religious Studies at KS3 and KS4.

  • Strong subject knowledge and a commitment to promoting inclusive education.

  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills as a Religious Education Teacher.
