Religious Studies Teacher

A school in Whitechapel is seeking an enthusiastic and reflective Religious Studies Teacher to join our Humanities faculty. This is an excellent opportunity to guide students in exploring moral, spiritual and philosophical questions while deepening their understanding of global religions and worldviews. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Religious Studies Teacher:

• Teach Religious Studies across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5 if applicable)

• Foster respectful debate, critical thinking and empathy in the classroom

• Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that reflect a balanced and inclusive curriculum

• Assess pupil progress and provide high-quality feedback

• Contribute to assemblies, enrichment days and interfaith awareness activities

Ideal Religious Studies Teacher:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• A degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy, or a related subject

• A strong knowledge of major world religions and ethical frameworks

• Excellent classroom management and communication skills as a Religious Studies Teacher.

• A passion for engaging students in open-minded, meaningful discussion
