The school are looking for a Science Head of Department initially on a temporary contract which will become permanent for a teacher that fully embodies the school ethos and is committed to making a positive impact within the school.

Science Head of Department Role:

• Comprehensive knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 Science curriculum; including Biology, Chemistry and Physics
• Organised, safe and professional maintenance of the classroom and the associated resources
• Committed to supporting every child to reach their full potential
• Work effectively with other members of staff, both within the department and throughout the school
• Ability to assess students, monitor their progress
• Be able to lead and support the staff within the department
• Able to plan, adapt and deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons
• Compliance with the schools’ policies and the reliable implementation of these

Science Head of Department Requirement:

• Hold QTS/QTLS or an equivalent qualification
• Have recent mainstream school-based experience as a Science Teacher in a Secondary School
• Have a good level of classroom and behaviour management
• A relevant Science related degree is desirable
• SEND experience is desirable
