Secondary Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a motivated and dedicated Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic support team. You will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to help students achieve their full potential—academically, socially, and emotionally. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Secondary Teaching Assistant:

• Support students in KS3 and KS4  in a variety of subjects

• Provide 1:1 and small group intervention, particularly for students with SEND or additional needs

• Assist with classroom preparation and the delivery of engaging learning activities

• Promote positive behaviour and student wellbeing

• Monitor and track student progress, feeding back to teaching staff

• Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities where appropriate

Ideal Secondary Teaching Assistant:

• Experience working in a secondary school or with young people aged 11–16

• A calm, patient and flexible approach

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills as a Secondary Teaching Assistant.

• A good level of literacy and numeracy (GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths)

• A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 TA or equivalent) – desirable but not essential

• A genuine commitment to safeguarding and supporting young people
