Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 5 Teacher to join a vibrant and welcoming primary school. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire and support pupils in upper Key Stage 2, helping them to build confidence and prepare for the transition to Year 6. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Year 5 :

 

  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative lessons that meet the needs of all learners in line with the national curriculum.

  • Use assessment effectively to track progress and inform teaching.

  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement.

  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.

  • Create a supportive, stimulating learning environment where all pupils can thrive.

  • Participate in wider school life, including clubs, events, and enrichment opportunities.

Ideal Year 5 Teacher:

 

  • Holds QTS and has recent experience teaching in KS2 (ideally Year 5).

  • Has a good understanding of the curriculum and the developmental needs of upper KS2 pupils.

  • Is reflective, organised, and passionate about providing the best outcomes for every child.

  • Works well both independently and as part of a collaborative team as Year 5 Teacher

  • Brings creativity, positivity, and enthusiasm to the classroom.
