Secondary Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about education and eager to make a positive impact on young people’s learning. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Secondary Teaching Assistant:

• Support students in KS3 and KS4 across a range of subjects.

• Provide targeted support for individuals or small groups, including those with additional learning needs.

• Work alongside class teachers to deliver tailored interventions and help adapt learning materials.

• Support pupils' emotional, social, and behavioural development.

• Assist with classroom preparation, displays, and administrative tasks as needed.

• Help monitor and record student progress and provide feedback to teachers.

Ideal Secondary Teaching Assistant:

• Experience working in a secondary school or with young people aged 11–16.

• A strong understanding of the secondary curriculum is desirable.

• Good literacy and numeracy skills (Level 2 or equivalent minimum) as a Secondary Teaching Assistant.

• Patience, resilience, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.

• A proactive and flexible approach to supporting teaching and learning.

• An understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
