Use positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques to help the pupil manage challenging moments.
Encourage engagement, confidence, and independence in learning.
Work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral staff to implement individual support plans.
Foster a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
Ideal SEMH Teaching Assistant:
Experience working with children with SEMH needs or additional behavioural challenges.
Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, understanding approach.
A patient, caring, and resilient attitude as an SEMH Teaching Assistant.
Ability to build positive relationships and promote emotional well-being.
