SEMH Teaching Assistant – Full-time, long-term temporary role starting as soon as possible

Duties as SEMH Teaching Assistant:

Provide targeted support for pupils with SEMH needs
Use strong behaviour management strategies to promote emotional regulation
Build positive and supportive working relationships with pupils
Assist with lesson activities and reinforce key learning objectives
Work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral teams
Support behaviour plans and personalised learning approaches
Promote resilience, engagement, and consistent routines
Uphold safeguarding expectations and prioritise pupil welfare

Ideal SEMH Teaching Assistant:

Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs
Strong behaviour management skills
Confident working with dysregulated or emotionally vulnerable pupils
Patient, calm, and resilient in challenging situations
Good communication and teamwork abilities
Able to adapt support strategies to meet varied needs
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil well-being
Reliable, proactive, and confident in supporting learning across the school day
