SEMH Teaching Assistant – Full-time, long-term temporary role starting as soon as possible

Leaders work closely with teaching and support staff to maintain high expectations and ensure pupils feel safe, regulated, and ready to engage with learning. Duties as SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Provide targeted support for pupils with SEMH needs
- Use strong behaviour management strategies to promote emotional regulation
- Build positive and supportive working relationships with pupils
- Assist with lesson activities and reinforce key learning objectives
- Work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral teams
- Support behaviour plans and personalised learning approaches
- Promote resilience, engagement, and consistent routines
- Uphold safeguarding expectations and prioritise pupil welfare
Ideal SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Confident working with dysregulated or emotionally vulnerable pupils
- Patient, calm, and resilient in challenging situations
