Job description

Are you a specialist SEN Teacher who wants the exciting challenge of delivering lessons for home tutored pupils across the North London boroughs? This may be the role for you. My client is seeking to ensure children with a wide spectrum of associative disorders that prevents them from entering the school system require home tuition. This could encompass severe learning disabilities to potentially terminal conditions, they require your help and the ability to form a close working relationship between you, the pupil, parents and our client who will monitor the guided learning hours and ensure education outcomes are met for the pupil.

Within this role, you will have potentially 2 pupils to teach across the course of a day however it is more probable that is it is one child who requires your help. Fridays will generally be an admin day in the office to ensure the outcomes are met. You will be in an outreach capacity, however, there is still a fair amount of monitoring your delivery of lessons through the client's outreach services.

Ideally, you have a high level of experience in working in a 121 setting and this will be advantageous in this role. I would welcome applications from teachers and tutors who enjoy the hands-off approach and who want to move away from the KPI element of the day to the day school environment.

Candidates will be subject to a variety of checks including an enhanced DBS check, full references including your most recent employer and eligibility to work in the UK. Step Teachers are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.

Unlike other agencies, Step Teachers are more than happy to process your pay via PAYE – you will not be forced to go with an Umbrella Company.
