Job description

Step Teachers are working with a "Good" Ofsted-rated Primary School in Enfield to find a qualified SEN Teacher to join their team from April 2024, supporting a small group of Key Stage 2 children with varied Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school is eager to find an SEN Teacher who is organised, creative and ready to engage their students with fun, play-based learning. This is a school that prides itself on a diverse atmosphere that focuses on kindness, cooperation and safety.

SEN Teacher - Role:

  • Able to plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons.
  • Maintain a well-organised classroom and ensure the safe use and storage of all equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers and other members of staff throughout the school.
  • Ability to assess students, monitor their progress, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Compliance with the schools’ policies and the reliable implementation of these.

SEN Teacher - Requirements:

  • Hold Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
  • Have recent experience as an SEN Teacher in a primary school.
  • Have a good level of classroom and behaviour management.
  • Have experience working alongside children with SEMH needs.
  • Patient, empathetic, and resilient, with a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of children.
