Step Teachers are working with a Secondary School in the Tiverton area to find a qualified SEN Teacher to join their team from May 2024, supporting small groups of Key Stage 3/4 students with varied Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school is eager to find an SEN Teacher who is organised, creative and ready to engage their students learning. This is a school that prides itself on a diverse atmosphere that focuses on kindness, cooperation, and safety.

SEN Teacher - Role:

• Able to plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons.
• Maintain a well-organised classroom and ensure the safe use and storage of all equipment.
• Communicate effectively with parents/carers and other members of staff throughout the school.
• Ability to assess students, monitor their progress, and provide constructive feedback.
• Compliance with the schools’ policies and the reliable implementation of these.

SEN Teacher - Requirements:

• Hold Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification.
• Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 3/4 curriculum.
• Have recent experience as an SEN Teacher.
• Have a good level of classroom and behaviour management.
• Have experience working alongside children with SEMH needs.
• Patient, empathetic, and resilient, with a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of children.
