SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Full-time, long-term temporary role starting as soon as possible

Duties as SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant:

Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with special educational needs
Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
Help create a calm and structured learning environment
Work closely with the SENCO and other staff to implement individual education plans
Monitor and report on pupil progress and behaviour
Support the pupil during transitions and break times

Ideal SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant:

Experience working with children or young people with SEND
Strong understanding of behaviour management and inclusive practices
Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and staff
Resilient, patient and empathetic approach
Relevant qualifications or training in education or child development (desirable)
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
