Job description
Learning Support Assistant – Daily supply from November 2025, starting as soon as possible
These flexible opportunities are ideal for Learning Support Assistants who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school settings. You’ll be supporting pupils with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) in mainstream and specialist provisions across Hounslow and the surrounding areas.
Duties as Learning Support Assistant:
- Support pupils with EBD in accessing the curriculum and managing their behaviour
- Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions tailored to individual needs
- Assist the class teacher in implementing behaviour support strategies
- Promote emotional well-being and positive social interactions
- Help maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment
- Liaise with SENCO and other professionals to support pupil progress
- Uphold safeguarding and behaviour policies consistently
Ideal Learning Support Assistant:
- Proven experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties
- Understanding of behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills as a SEND Learning Support Assistant
- Ability to work flexibly across different age groups and learning needs
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
- A proactive, patient and resilient approach to supporting pupils
