Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEND Teacher, starting in November 2025, to join a supportive school environment working with KS2 pupils who are learning at a range of developmental levels.

Pupils make good progress across the school, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities. Staff provide effective support and closely monitor progress to ensure every child achieves well. Early years provision is strong, particularly in phonics and early reading, helping children reach expected levels by Key Stage 1. Attainment has improved over time, and pupils continue to develop key skills in reading, writing, and mathematics, supported by engaging lessons and targeted interventions.

This long-term, temporary, ongoing position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on pupils’ learning and personal development.

Duties as SEND Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs

  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports academic and emotional development

  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and support staff to deliver targeted interventions

  • Track and record pupil progress, contributing to individual learning plans and reviews

  • Foster strong relationships with parents, carers, and multidisciplinary teams to support each child’s journey

Ideal SEND Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience supporting pupils with special educational needs (essential)

  • A flexible, creative, and nurturing approach to teaching

  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills as a SEND Teacher.

  • Commitment to inclusive education and ensuring every pupil can succeed
