Job description
SEND Teacher – Full-time, temp to perm position starting January 2026
We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive primary school environment. Pupils are happy and feel safe, and staff have high expectations for their behaviour and learning. The curriculum is ambitious and well adapted to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND. Leaders provide strong support for staff and ensure that pupils receive a high-quality education in a nurturing setting.
Duties as SEND Teacher:
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with special educational needs
- Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Work closely with support staff and external professionals to implement EHCPs
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting strategies as needed
- Foster positive relationships with pupils, parents, and carers
- Contribute to whole-school SEND provision and development
Ideal SEND Teacher:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching in a primary SEND setting or with pupils with additional needs
- Strong understanding of SEND strategies and inclusive teaching practices
- Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Flexible, resilient, and passionate about supporting all learners
