Job description
SEND Teacher – Day-to-day supply from as soon as possible
These flexible opportunities are ideal for SEND Teachers who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school settings in Plymouth and the surrounding areas.
Duties as SEND Teacher:
- Deliver engaging lessons tailored to pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
- Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and differentiated strategies
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and independence
- Work closely with teaching assistants and SENCOs to support pupil progress
- Manage behaviour effectively using positive reinforcement techniques
- Communicate regularly with parents and carers regarding pupil development
- Maintain accurate records of pupil attainment and progress
Ideal SEND Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching pupils with SEND in UK schools
- Strong understanding of SEND strategies and inclusive teaching practices
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to adapt quickly to different school environments
- A flexible and proactive approach to supply teaching
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
