Job description

Class Act Teaching Services are currently working with a Special School in Reading who cater for students with profound and multiple learning difficulties and are looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team. The role is full time, and the school are looking for an SEND Teaching Assistant to join on a permanent contract starting in September 2025, although there can be some flexibility with this. 

SEND Teaching Assistant Role:

  • Able to provide 1 to 1, small group and whole class support
  • Work effectively with other members of staff as well as external professionals
  • Ability to support students and encourage their progression
  • Provide feedback to teachers on pupil progress and behaviour
  • Willingness to comply with the schools’ policies and implement effectively

SEND Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Recent experience working in a Mainstream or Special School
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification is desirable
  • Previous SEND experience is essential
