SEND Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join a team, supporting pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This is a rewarding role where you will play a key part in helping children access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential. Beginning ASAP.

Duties as a SEND Teaching Assistant:

• Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND

• Assisting the teacher in adapting lessons and resources to meet individual needs

• Encouraging positive behaviour, independence, and social interaction

• Supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing alongside their academic progress

• Working closely with the SENCO, teachers, and parents to deliver personalised support plans

Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:

• Have experience supporting children with SEND (e.g. autism, ADHD, speech & language needs, learning difficulties, or physical disabilities)

• Be patient, empathetic, and adaptable in their approach

• Hold a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) – desirable but not essential

• Be a proactive team player with strong communication skills as a SEND Teaching Assistant.

• Be passionate about inclusive education and making a difference
