Job description
We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join a team, supporting pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This is a rewarding role where you will play a key part in helping children access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential. Beginning ASAP.
Duties as a SEND Teaching Assistant:
Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
Assisting the teacher in adapting lessons and resources to meet individual needs
Encouraging positive behaviour, independence, and social interaction
Supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing alongside their academic progress
Working closely with the SENCO, teachers, and parents to deliver personalised support plans
Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:
Have experience supporting children with SEND (e.g. autism, ADHD, speech & language needs, learning difficulties, or physical disabilities)
Be patient, empathetic, and adaptable in their approach
Hold a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) – desirable but not essential
Be a proactive team player with strong communication skills as a SEND Teaching Assistant.
