Job description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school on a long-term temporary, ongoing basis, starting as soon as possible.
This calm and nurturing school helps pupils re-engage with learning after previous challenges. Staff know each pupil well, set high expectations, and provide strong pastoral and therapeutic support. Pupils feel valued, behave well, and make good progress, gaining confidence and trust in a safe, supportive environment.
Duties as a SEND Teaching Assistant:
Support pupils with a range of special educational needs in and out of the classroom
Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering individualised learning activities
Promote independence, confidence, and inclusion for all pupils
Help manage behaviour in a calm and positive manner
Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals
Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:
Previous experience supporting children with SEND is essential
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills as a SEND Teaching Assistant.
Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs are desirable
