We are seeking an experienced and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to join an alternative provision setting on a long-term temporary, ongoing basis, starting in January 2026.

This nurturing school helps pupils re-engage with learning after previous challenges. Staff understand each pupil’s needs, set high expectations, and provide strong pastoral and therapeutic support. Pupils feel accepted, behave well, and make good progress in a safe, supportive environment where their voices are heard.

Duties as a SEND Teaching Assistant:

• Support students with a range of SEND needs in an alternative provision environment

• Build positive, trusting relationships to encourage engagement and progress

• Assist in delivering tailored learning activities under the guidance of teaching staff

• Help manage behaviour calmly and effectively, using de-escalation strategies when needed

• Promote social, emotional, and academic development for all learners

Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:

• Experience in SEND or alternative provision settings is essential

• A calm, patient, and proactive approach

• Strong behaviour management and communication skills as a SEND Teaching Assistant.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a supportive team
