Job description
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to pupils with a range of special educational needs
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
- Support pupils with personal care needs, where required
- Help manage classroom behaviour and promote positive interactions
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
- Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
- Collaborate with SENCOs and other professionals to implement EHCPs
Ideal SEND Teaching Assistants:
- Relevant SEND or Teaching Assistant qualifications
- Experience providing 1:1 support to children with SEND
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills as SEND Teaching Assistants.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
