Step Teachers are seeking dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants for daily supply work around King’s Lynn and the surrounding areas, starting as soon as possible.

This opportunity is within a network of inclusive and supportive schools that prioritise the individual needs of every pupil. Duties as SEND Teaching Assistants:

Provide dedicated 1:1 support to pupils with a range of special educational needs
Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
Support pupils with personal care needs, where required
Help manage classroom behaviour and promote positive interactions
Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
Collaborate with SENCOs and other professionals to implement EHCPs

Ideal SEND Teaching Assistants:

Relevant SEND or Teaching Assistant qualifications
Experience providing 1:1 support to children with SEND
A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills as SEND Teaching Assistants.
A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
