SEND Teaching Assistant – Full-time, long-term temporary position, starting December 2025
This is an excellent opportunity for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school environment. Staff work collaboratively to create a nurturing atmosphere where pupils feel valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.
Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with special educational needs
- Assist teachers in implementing personalised learning plans
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
- Adapt resources and activities to meet individual needs
- Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting to the class teacher and SENCO
- Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Contribute to safeguarding and wellbeing practices across the school
Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:
- At least 3 months’ experience working with SEND pupils in a school setting
- Relevant qualifications are an advantage but not essential
- Ability to work flexibly across different year groups
- Strong understanding of strategies to support pupils with diverse needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Committed to promoting inclusion and safeguarding children
