SEND Teaching Assistant – Supply roles available starting as soon as possible
Step Teachers are seeking dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants for flexible supply opportunities across secondary schools in Bolton and the surrounding areas. These roles are ideal for support staff who enjoy variety and want to make a meaningful impact in inclusive learning environments. Immediate starts available.

Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:

  • Support pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities
  • Assist in delivering tailored learning activities under teacher guidance
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being
  • Help pupils develop independence and communication skills
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support
  • Collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to meet individual learning needs

Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND
  • Understanding of inclusive education and behaviour support strategies
  • Patient, empathetic and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to support pupils across different age groups and settings
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
