Job description
Special Needs Specialist – Full-time, daily supply from as soon as possible
These flexible opportunities are ideal for Special Needs Specialists who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different secondary school settings in Harrow and the surrounding areas.
Duties as Special Needs Specialist:
- Support pupils with a range of special educational needs across KS3 and KS4
- Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement individual learning plans
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to help pupils access the curriculum
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being
- Assist with personal care and mobility where required
- Help create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment
Ideal Special Needs Specialist:
- Experience supporting young people with SEND in a school or care setting
- Confident working across secondary age groups
- Patient, empathetic and adaptable to changing needs as a Special Needs Specialist
- Able to follow safeguarding and behaviour policies consistently
- Willing to commit to daily supply work across multiple schools
- Relevant qualifications such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent are desirable
